I have a good friend who loves Jamaica, the first time he told me he was going there I assumed he was going to stay at one of the all inclusive resorts, but no.. he liked to go live with the people in the little villages.

One time I was giving him a ride to the airport and he asked me how many writing pens I had, I happend to have just bought a package of bic pens and there were about 10 of them. He said he wanted them, so I gave them to him, then he said do you have any more, so I looked through my glove box and found 4 or 5 more and gave those to him.

Then I asked him why he needed so many pens, he said the last time he was in Jamaica he went to a little village and he asked someone who was running a business if he could borrow a pen,
they said sure and told him to go down the street to some other place, he goes down there and they said they had a pen but someone else had it now and they send him someplace else, so he starts asking about the pen and finds out that all the business in the village share one pen,
you just have to track down the person who had it last and they would give it to you.

So he wanted to take everyone their own pen, so he was going back there and hand out these pens.
you would think he could have made a trip to the store between the time he got back from his last trip and when he was leaving again, but whatever.

Anyway, everytime someone says Jamaica I think about these people running around this village with their bic pens. lol
