I thought I posted this, but I can't find it anywhere. These are my 3 favorite free virus removal sites.

Pandasoft (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm) - Does not work with Chrome, but does work with FireFox 3.6.8

symantec (http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?productid=globalsites&langid=ie&venid=sym) - Only works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher with ActiveX and Scripting enabled.

Update:

Dec 2011 - I just checked housecall.trendmicro.com and they now make you buy their product for $70 or they make you register a credit card and sign up for some trials to download their software, so it's not free any more. Which is a bummer because I liked it the best.

The last time I got a virus I found out that Vista does have a pretty cool feature that makes a backup everyday on your computer.

I think you hit F8 while your computer is booting or something like that.

If you haven't spent a lot of time installing new software in the last 24 hours, then you can just go to the previous day and load that backup and any viruses you have picked up will be gone.

it works a lot easier than scanning and trying to remove something, if you know you have picked it up recently.

Thanks for that Elmer...
The house call will be the first.

I use XPRepair Pro but my PC is so gummed with garbage that it does not always last very long. Defragging would prob help.

Not sure I have any virus's but a lot of stuff that gets in the way....like a MESSY ROOM OR GARAGE.

yeah, I have figure out that if you install a couple hundred programs on your computer it pretty much works about the same as getting a virus, just harder to get rid of. :D
