View Full Version : one of those days, need a cue/bin burner

I have a copy of nero that is in the format of cue/bin files. I also have a dvd/cd burner that was working fine so while I was always going to put nero on my computer I just never got around to doing it, mostly because the program I had burned everything.

Yesterday I decided to go ahead and burn Nero on a disk since I have it, and the program that I have been using for several months (maybe 6 or 7) turns out to be a trial copy. And it tells me that my time has expired and the program will no longer work. No problem I delete it and look around on my computer and find out that I don't have anything else that can burn a cue/bin file.

No problem, I start downloading stuff and run across a couple more cue/bin files that will do the burn if I could get to them, which I can't...

I down load 5 more programs none of them work. The closest I got was Free CD Audio Ripper 1.4.5 - but it ONLY does audio files, and Nero is not audio (who knew they would be so picky).

So, can anyone recommend a small program that is in an .exe format that I can use to burn a cue/bin file combination?

I would really appreciate it. thanks.

I tried to install alcohol and it said I had to reboot, I might have had another window open at the time that got in the way, because it never rebooted and then when I did a reboot the install never picked back up and I never went back and tried to install it again. I could give that one a 2nd try.

I also have an original copy of nero that I paid for last year, it is version 6.6.0.14
but when I run nero and click on burn image to disk, which is what it seems like I want to do.
the only option that comes up after I click on the cue files is "image recorder" and it is a virutal device and it burns another file on my hard drive.

it will burn other stuff to my cd drive but just not an image. maybe there is some setting I don't have right.

what size are the bin and cue files ?

It may be a case the its too big to fit on the cd hence why its defaulting to the image recorder. The bin file may well need to be burnt to a dvd. Just my 2 cents worth

You can't change it from image recorder to your cd burner? There's usually that option in Nero...

the bin file is 739,489 I though that was about the size that should make a cd image, I never thought about it being too big.

and my nero can access my cd drive from other places but when I go to burn image it only has one option on the pull down menu and that's the image recorder.

Here's the burner I've been using for a while now:

Been meaning to upload it and post it, this is the best burner I've ever used, including Nero. I've never seen it posted on another forum before or anywhere else. I've noticed Nero is fine until my computer gets cluttered, dont' know if it's a memory thing or what, but I'll start getting bad burns, but this program I've rarely ever had a bad burn. Unfortunately it'll probably go the way of DVD Shrink and Decrypter, I read somewhere that he was sued by Roxio for using their technology. If he did use it, he perfected it because ECDC can't hold a candle to this. I read he's trying to make a comeback, but nothing on his webpage yet:

download daemon tools and you wont even have to burn it. then once nero is installed burn it with nero for the future
