View Full Version : vbulletin bug question?
vbulletin looks for web urls and makes them active there is no way to stop it from doing this I have asked them.
But when you put links inside the "hide" tags then they are usually not active links (but just the text) however once in a while they are changed to active links.
Anyone have any idea why this happens?

That's kind of what I was thinking too,
but if someone knew how the magic worked.... I would be interested to know. :)

I hadn't really noticed before because I've been coding everything in the hide tags, but started experimenting a little after reading your post. It seems if you put one url in the hide tags without the code tags it will not be active. But if you put 2 or more urls in the hide tags only the first url will be inactive but all the rest will be active. Go figure
I am pretty sure the code tags don't have much to do with it since when they are used inside the hide tags the system ignors them.
You can tell this because when used outside the hide tags the system creates a little code box, when used inside the hide tags the tags are just copied back and nothing happens.
the reason it looks like it works on the first link is because any character infront of a link will prevent the link from converting, it is the same as this:
it just happens to also have the "[code" part infront of it also.
you can also use:
nwww.example.com
