When doing a c&p ie for an email or in a forum etc.. Is it possible to (imbed) pass on a virus?
Thanks in advance.

If you are copy and pasting just text, then it is not possible. When you "Copy" something, it is retained in a part of your computer called the "Clipboard". Whatever is copied remains on your clipboard until you replace it with something else. Then when you paste, it copies what is in the clipboard to where you want it to go. So there really isn't any one to one transfer. If you are sending a text file, then it is possible since it can be a virus mascarading as a text file, etc.
Now if you are copying a photo or some art, then it may be possible. There have been known instances of photos containing viruses. But if you send it via email, the photo (upload) gets scanned usually by the email site (if you are using yahoo, gmail, etc.) so it is pretty safe. Also remember to scan anything you download, even if it is a photo.
