that is a tough question, because a lot of times what is popular today is out of style tomorrow.
are you going to try to make a profit from your site, or is it strictly a hobby?
if it's a hobby site, what kind of a budget do you have?

I've tried the whole - Make money thing at website stuff, but I'm probably the worlds worst saleswoman, so they all fail. Now my website is just a stupid place for me to fiddle on and the surprising thing is I have had more positive response with that...go figure.
I think people want free things (I do). I get so tired of sites where you have to pay for something. Personally, I like cartoons, like Burntface man and hoops and yoyo (although theirs is a selling site). I like things you can't find on tv or newspaper or anywhere else...funny videos is good.
Basically, I would say, what's your passion and do you want to do it for free?
What I don't want to see is more porn. I hate porn, it's stupid. It makes me feel crappy. I'm really glad 100bling moved the porn to a different site...good move!!!

This is just a hobby, maybe just have ads on it.. But, How would I make a search engine? How would I make it to search the entire web like google? I have made one but it only searched my website for the keywords you put in it.....

I think search engines are a little programmer intensive for one person to tackle.
Sites that take less work and once you have them up, have some staying power are the ones that I like. I had a chance to buy a really nice site on the history of castles, at the time I was not all that interested in castles, but that would have been a site that will still be as popular 50 years from now as it is today, I like that about it.

With the internet so many things come and go so fast.

Ideas are a dime a dozen. :)

I like:

sports,
jokes,
video games, (classic arcade games that are addictive)
movies
women
And last but not least – Poker.

Not necessarily in that order :D

HAH!! Hmm, so seriously, what do u guys want?

Dude

I was being serious about the topics, just not about the order...

I am also really interested in making money and people who have lots of money. I thought it was really cool when I met Bill Gates, and I have often thought about just going to see if I could run into Warren Buffet (the 2nd richest man) so a website about making money would be on my list too.

there was one other topic I thought of... but I can't think of it right now.

i was thinking an arcade, but I would have no idea how to put them on the site and keep track of the scores;(

You met Bill Gates?

Warrant Buffet is on another site I am a mod of.... I think it is him too!

The arcade stuff you can get for the forum software you are running. if you have vbulletin then you can use this one
-http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101554
or most of the other forums have them too.

the inside story of how I met Bill Gates in Washington DC.
http://www.hundredbling.net/showthread.php?t=7142&page=2

The real Warren Buffet doesn't use a computer, he doesn't even have one on his desk, or in his office. they just had special program about him on CNBC and he said that if he needs something from a computer then he would just tell someone to go do it for him.

**** money making idea comming up here ****
during the interview they had a stack of 30 or 40 books about Warren Buffet and they said Warren Buffet books are a huge industry and people are making millions and millions and he does not get a penny, he just said he didn't care.
Then he held up one of the books and said I like this one best and showed it to the camera. I bet the author of that book made a minimum of $50,000 from that and he does not have to give Buffet anything. How lucky can you get.
Not only that, but the book he likes he said that all the guy did was mostly copy his annual reports and publish them. how hard could that be?

Dude

Well if you wrote a book about Warren Buffet then you could be making money, if Warren would hold it up on a national TV show and tell everyone how great it was then you would make a lot of money.

But that's probably not going to happen again for a while. :(
